Tove Bakke

Tove Bakke (b 1954, Norway) is a translator resident in Oslo. She has been a literary critic for many years, edited Kritikkjournalen from 1984 to 1987 and has also worked for the Arts Council Norway.

Bakke has translated some 60 novels, plays, poetry collections, non-fiction books and literature, mostly to New Norwegian.

She received the Rosetta Prize in 2021 for her translation of Emmanuel Carrère’s Le Royaume (2020).
