Randi Rønning Balsvik

Randi Rønning Balsvik (b 1939, Norway) is a historian and professor emerita.

She has been with the department of archaeology, history, religious studies and theology at the University of Tromsø since 1981, specialising in African – and particularly Ethiopian – history.

In addition to African subjects, she has written on the history of women, northern Norway both locally and regionally, and social issues.

Her latest publication, Norsk bistandshistorie, appeared in 2016.
