Finn Skårderud

Morten Brun

Finn Skårderud (b 1956, Norway) is a psychiatrist, author and professor. 

He has published several non-fiction books, and had his breakthrough with Uro. En reise i det moderne selvet (1998), which has been translated and published in a number of countries. His latest book is Sult (2020), which addresses the treatment of eating disorders ­– a subject he has devoted much attention to. 

Skårderud has long been committed to making scientific subjects accessible via popular genres, and has a wide-ranging involvement as a scientific author, writer and communicator. He writes on culture for Aftenposten, has a regular column in A-magasinet and contributes to Danish newspaper Information.
