Elizabeth Kolbert

Elizabeth Kolbert (b 1961, USA) is a journalist and author from New York.

Having studied journalism and literature at Yale and in Hamburg, she writes about the environment and politics for The New Yorker. Kolbert is the journalist who made the concept of the sixth extinction widely known, and received the Pulitzer Prize in 2015 for The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History..

She is now topical with the book Under a White Sky, about how humans are seeking to keep alive or reconstruct nature with the aid of technology. Kolbert discusses various forms of climate crisis affecting the planet during our geological era, and examines which innovative technological solutions are available.
