Hans Kristian Mjelva

Hans Kristian Mjelva (b 1966, Norway) is a political/financial commentator in Bergens Tidende. Educated as a historian, he received a PhD from the University of Bergen in 2005.

Before that, Mjelva worked as a journalist on various desks – politics, finance, features, news and comment – at Bergens Tidende, Klassekampen and the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK).

He has also taught media history at Kristiania University College and scripted a documentary on shipowner Hilmar Reksten for NRK.
