Coffee cups and crucifixes

The chapel has been one of the most important bearers of Norwegian rural identity for several generations, not least in western Norway. In line with urbanisation and secularisation, however, a growing number are standing empty – and some are in decay.

Photographer Erlend Berge has travelled around Norway’s chapel country, and presents his photographs and his work in this talk.
