CANCELLED - Truth in the Novel

Nnedi Okorafor is renowned for several duologies and trilogies in the genre of African futurism, as well as being the author of the Black Panther comics. In January 2025, she released a novel, Death of the Author, in which she temporarily leaves African Futurism behind.

In this new novel, Okorafor explores the true nature of humanity through the life of an author who experiences unexpected success (yes, it's based on her own life) in today's society and the parallel storyline of the author’s novel which is set in a dystopian future with AI and robots.

Okorafor meets translator and publisher Julia Wiedlocha for a conversation about the author's life, the novel, the truth and African futurism.
