Film Screening: Fedrelandet

The documentary "Fedrelandet" by Margreth Olin.

With Margreth Olin's 85-year-old father as our guide, we get to experience Norway's most fairytale-like valley, Oldedalen in Nordfjord and the mighty Jostedalsbreen glacier. This is where he grew up, and where generations before him have lived in balance with nature. The film title must therefore also be interpreted literally - this is ‘Father's country’. The film alternates between majestic images of wild mountains, carved glaciers and teeming wildlife and his parents' stories about the generations that trod the paths. In this way, Olin emphasises the close ties between nature and people - and what is actually valuable in life.

LitFestBergen is screening the film in connection with Margreth Olin's participation in the festival, and the film screening is a collaboration with BIFF.

The film is in Norwegian with English subtitles.
