Pop Poetry with Mona B Riise
Can a life falling apart be glued together by music?
From Nobel Laureate Bob Dylan and Norwegian singer-songwriter Kari Bremnes via Cezinando and on to some of Bergen’s greatest songwriters, in this lecture Mona B Riise will present pop songs and play music. She will relate her own personal story, with intense and humorous moments, about how music can give meaning, reassemble lives and – to use big words – possibly glue the world together.
Mona B Riise has worked as a culture journalist for almost 25 years. She has presented and regularly participated in prestigious TV programmes, and has directed a documentary film about Lillebjørn Nilsen, a popular Norwegian contemporary folk singer. She has also written the book Norsk pop-poesi (Norwegian Pop Poetry), which looks at the words of pop songs.
The event will be in Norwegian.
