Joshua Hammer

Joshua Hammer (b 1957, USA) is a journalist and author. He has worked as a foreign correspondent and office head for Newsweek in such cities as Nairobi, Berlin and Jerusalem. 

After leaving Newsweek in 2006, Hammer has written for Smithsonian Magazine, Outside, New York Review of Books, GQ, The New York Times Magazine and many other publications.

He has written five non-fiction books, including The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu in 2016 and The Falcon Thief, which appeared in 2020.
