Tore Renberg

Tore Renberg (b 1972, Norway) is known for his diverse work as an author, with the series about Jarle Klepp and the Hillevåg gang occupying a central place. 

He made his literary debut in 1995 with the short-story collection Sovende floke, which won the Tarjei Vesaas First Book Prize. This has been followed by 16 novels and a number of publications in other genres. He has also worked for stage and screen.

His first book in New Norwegian, Du er så lys, appeared in 2016 and attracted much attention. Another book in New Norwegian, Tollak til Ingeborg, followed in 2020 and won that year’s Bookseller’s Prize.

Renberg has otherwise won a number of awards, and his books have been translated into 17 languages.
