Susanna

Susanna is the woman behind Susanna and the Magical Orchestra, Susanna and Susanna Wallumrød. She had issued 14 critically acclaimed albums since her debut in 2004.

She is known not only for her personal interpretations of Joy Division, AC/DC, Dolly Parton and Henry Purcell, among others, but also for her highly originally settings of Gunvor Hofmo’s poems to music and her collaboration with such performers as Ensemble neoN, Jenny Hval, America’s Bonnie “Prince” Billy and contemporary dance company Carte Blanche.

Susanna has received the Rolf Gammleng Prize, the Radka Toneff Memorial Prize, three Norwegian Grammies, the Edvard Prize and the DNB Prize – the Kongsberg Jazz Festival’s main award – for her work.
