Roland Gulliver

Roland Gulliver (b 1976, UK) has an MA in English literature from the University of Edinburgh.

Gulliver has been director of the Toronto International Festival of Authors since February 2020. He was previously programme manager and associate director of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, and a prime mover in its development.

He is on the board of the Toronto Arts Council and chairs its literary advisory committee, and is a member of the Academy for the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction. Gulliver is also on the juries for the 2020 Republic of Consciousness Prize for Small Presses and for the fiction category of the 2021 OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature.
