Poetic activism
South African poet Koleka Putuma arouses enthusiasm and anger in her homeland with her confrontational poems and intense on-stage presence. She is a member of the “born free” post-apartheid generation, and a sharp critic of those who believe that black and white, women and men, now have equal rights.
Musician, poet and actor Niillas Holmberg insists that he comes from Finnish-occupied Sápmi. The collective mindset and contact with nature of the Sami occupy a central place in his artistic work. These two young authors will read their own poems and discuss poetics and politics with slam poet Michael W Opara, also known as Doriansgrave.
