Poet in a closed country
What is life like for a woman and a poet in Iran and Saudi Arabia? Although these two Middle Eastern countries have much in common culturally and religiously, they are bitter enemies. But art makes it possible to meet on the same stage.
Asieh Amini is an Iranian resident in Norway. Together with Saudi Arabian Hissa Hilal, she is attending the festival to talk about the work of writing, the place of poetry in the Middle East and what life is like for women and artists.
The conversation will be in English.
