Norwegian championship in Slam

LitFestBergen is the official arranger of the Norwegian Championship Finals in Slam Poetry. In the course of the autumn and winter there have been semifinals around the country, and on 10 February the finalists from Trondheim, Bergen, Oslo and Innlandet come together at the House of Literature in Bergen for the third time to compete for the trophy. Slam Poetry is a direct and spontaneous poetic experience in the meeting point between poetry reading, spoken word, standup and rap. The first slam reading was arranged at a jazz club in Chicago in 1984 by builder and poet Marc Smith, who wanted to make poetry more accessible and inclusive. Contact with the audience, the atmosphere in the room are alpha and omega, and as important as the text is the way it is presented.
